Born and raised in NYC, Cece King is a Director/Producer and Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude graduate of Dartmouth College whose work explores complex social issues through an intimate, optimistic, yet rigorous lens.She is currently producing EVADERS, directed by Hudson Rogers, while also directing and producing her debut documentary SI LA ISLA QUIERE. For this project, she dove with endemic fur seals and trekked through remote terrain to investigate one of the world’s most unique ecosystems on Robinson Crusoe Island, Chile.
Her recent credits include serving as Archival Coordinator on the upcoming film Christmas Karma, directed by Gurinder Chadha (Bend It Like Beckham), after being personally requested by producers Stephen Jones (Wonder Woman, Gravity) and Celine Rattray (American Honey). Cece has also collaborated with journalist Liz Plank on the forthcoming documentary Not So Special and honed her skills under Emmy-nominated producer Debi Wisch (The Price of Everything) on various projects, including the 2022 SXSW Audience Award winner The Art of Making It.
In addition to filmmaking, Cece is a published writer with contributions to newspapers across Maine and New York. She also served as an archival researcher for a Foreign Affairs book on regime change in the Congo. She speaks Spanish fluently as well as Arabic and French. When she’s not making movies, Cece can be found surfing and diving in the water or training for the circus in the air.
